100 % Malbec – Vines aged 40 to 50 years
Terroir
This single-parcel cuvée takes shape on the plateau of the Cahors appellation, where red clays resting on a Jurassic limestone bedrock give Malbec an expression that is both deep and elegant.
The vineyard is cultivated with deep respect for living systems, with minimal intervention and constant attention to natural rhythms.
Vinification is carried out parcel by parcel in small concrete tanks, preserving the integrity of the fruit : grapes are mostly destemmed but not crushed.
Fermentations rely on indigenous yeasts, and extractions remain delicate, combining gentle punch-downs and precise pump-overs. Maceration lasts around 15 days, followed by 12 months of ageing in concrete tanks and sandstone jars.
No fining or filtration is carried out, in order to preserve the pure identity of the wine.
Deep black color with ruby and purple highlights.
Nose
A deep bouquet of macerated black fruits, licorice and violet, with a controlled, poised intensity.
Fleshy, sapid and supple, carried by silky, well-integrated tannins.
A vibrant, precise Cahors wine, a faithful expression of the purity of the appellation’s plateau.
